Happy Spring! It is a beautiful sunny day in Michigan. Sunshine after the long winter we’ve had is something we can all be thankful for. Aadil is almost four months old! I thought it was a good time to share what I’m up to. Here is what I’m currently doing, reading and thinking.
Currently reading: Becoming by Michelle Obama. I’m halfway through this incredible book I received as a Secret Santa gift. A lot has happened in my life since then, specifically, having a newborn, but I’ve managed to find some time to read in between nursing, changing diapers, playing and putting Aadil to sleep. It’s an amazing look at Michelle Obama’s life so far and I can’t wait to finish it.

Also currently reading: Baby and children’s books. I’ve made it my mission to read at least one book to Aadil a day so I can instill my love of reading in him from the beginning. Story time with Aadil is my one of my favorite activities. When Amar is home, he listens, too. We asked our guests who attended our baby shower to bring a book instead of a card. We’re so thankful many did and we have a great library as a result. Some of our favorites are all three of the Brown Bear series, and most recently, I bought him a classic: Love You Forever. When I finish reading a page, I show Aadil the pages so he can see the colorful illustrations. Today, I read him Animal Kisses by Sarah Bradshaw and Guess How Much I Love you by Sam McBratney. He smiled when he saw the pictures of the animals!
Applying: Lolli Breathe peony and white lily shea butter hand cream. I bought this hand cream last year because I loved the smell. I apply some each night before going to bed and during the day when I need a boost of its soothing, calming fragrance. It’s relaxation in a tube.
Watching: The Buddha series on Netflix. After exhausting almost all of the new and exciting Bollywood Hindi movie releases on Netflix, I was in need of something new to watch. I was told about this series called Buddha on Netflix. It’s the origin story of the wise sage we all know. Each episode is short and the story moves quickly. Check it out if this is something you are interested in.
Eating: Anything quick! With a newborn at home, I often have time for just a quick bowl of cereal topped with fruit in the morning or a peanut butter banana smoothie for lunch. If you’ve got quick and healthy recipes to share for new moms, send them my way. I’m also in search of spring baking recipes, too.
Exercising: With Spring finally here, I’m thrilled I can get out for walks again. While visiting my Mom and Dad in Naperville, I took a few morning walks around our neighborhood. There is something about getting fresh air that does wonders for my mood. Walking was my preferred way of exercising when I was pregnant. It is a simple way to clear my mind and make sure I keep moving. As the weather continues to improve, I’m looking forward to taking Aadil out with me in his stroller for walks together.
I’m going to share more Currently posts with all of you in the future. What are you currently up to? Let me know!
